Merano is an enigma, its warm climate and green surroundings stretch out to the steep white-capped mountains and its top ski resort. The main street, Via Portici, features century old porticos of pastel coloured houses that provide cover from rain, snow and sun. Underneath these, you can peruse the narrow cobbled streets lined with pavement cafes, shops and restaurants.

The hotel is opposite the promenade and a theatre. The Kurhaus - a health resort featuring a swimming pool and other facilities - is just a 5 minute walk away.
